Hopscotch, Mother!

This piece is Meghna’s ode to her mother with whom she started knitting and crocheting. The two performers attempt a dance based on their explorations of varied patterns, constructions, and rhythms embedded in the act of knitting, while imagining the yarn as a metaphor for thresholds and borders. In this process, they project mutuality and interdependence, and seek to embody a sense of remembrance for the labour and desires of knitting women across times and cultures.
